Several years ago my daughter gave me a set of watercolors, paper, and brushes for my birthday. Her words were, “I think you will like watercolors." She was right, I started to teach myself how to use watercolors. Working through processes and techniques then expressing my interpretations of nature with this medium is pure joy.
Throughout my life, I have always had a creative desire and loved the feeling of making something from my imagination. My wife made a place for me to foster the imaginative part of my life…She calls it Dan Withrow Studio.
I currently live in mountainous Pennsylvania after a lifetime of living in the woods and prairies of the Midwest. My scenery, both current and past, inspire my works. A love of nature has been lifelong and I use every excuse I can to be out in it.
My work comes from my family's encouragement to allow my inspirations to be shown on paper. To them I have to say thank you for your unending support and love.

As a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, I have been lucky enough to live in places where I am able to immerse myself in the natural beauty of my surroundings. From the prairies and woods of the Midwest, to the vistas and mountains of Pennsylvania, they continue to be the biggest inspiration for my work.
